Science - Process Skills

I strongly believe that before any science concept is presented in the classroom, the students should first be introduced to the science process skills. It is believed that if children are properly oriented with these process skills, they will retain it and find it tremendously useful throughout their lives.

I am not talking about whether or not they will be able to apply what they learned on what factors will affect the growth of a monggo plant or how fast salt granules will dissolve if heat is applied. Those are concepts that they will probably forget as soon as the school year is over. Process skills such as observing, comparing and contrasting, classifying, etc., are skills that they can apply to whatever activity they wish to pursue in the future.
Here are some notes and worksheets to help your child understand these Science process skills:

Science 3 - Observing (Practice)
