English - Kinds of Sentences according to Use

There are 4 kinds of sentences according to use:

·      Declarative Sentence – This is a statement. It tells you something or talks about something. It ends with a period (.).
Littering is a problem at our school.
Many students do not throw their trash in the proper place.

·      Interrogative Sentence – This asks a question. It ends with a question mark (?).
What should we do to promote cleanliness?
Did you throw this piece of paper on the floor?

·      Imperative Sentence – This expresses a command. It can also come as a request. It tells you to do something. It ends with a period (.).
Please throw this wrapper in the trashcan.
Stop.

·      Exclamatory Sentence – This is an expression of a strong feeling. It ends with an exclamation point (!).
Fantastic, our school is finally clean!
