Math - Roman Numerals

Are you having a hard time teaching your child about Roman Numerals? That's probably because they do not see these letters used as numbers very often anymore. Other than on old buildings or really fancy watches, where else would a child encounter the use of Roman Numeration?

You can tell your child that, when they grow up and would need to look at really long documents, these will be divided into sections marked with Roman Numerals. They will also encounter it should they wish to study Law. Okay, I'm reaching a little here. But, it is still being taught in school so we still need to prepare our kids for tests on it. To make it more fun, tell your child that it is some sort of decoding activity. They can be like spies!
