When you are trying to learn some new information, it would be very helpful if you try to use a variety of ways to stimulate your brain.
For example, if you are trying to learn how to solve for the percentage of a base number, you can first listen to your teacher's lecture. Afterward, read the text so you can see the words. Solve a few sample problems. Watch a video of somebody solving similar problems. If you are musically inclined, try to make a song about the process. Draw a comic. Teach the concept to a fellow student. The more ways you employ, the better you will be able to retain the new information.
