Whether you're working or studying, taking a break from time to time is something that can help your productivity. Going hard all the time can deplete your energy completely. It would take you longer to recuperate when you are already at zero.
Taking short breaks after studying for 2 or more hours straight can also help your brain process better what you have been reading or listening to.
But, don't use this as an excuse to slack off. Don't start taking breaks fifteen minutes after you've started doing something.
