A pictograph shows data using images or pictures. Aside from the title and labels (headings), it is important to look at the key or legend to figure out what each image or picture means.
Below is a pictograph based on the table shown in this table.

Goods Donated for the Outreach Program
Before even looking at the questions, I tell my students to determine the corresponding number of items per entry on the pictograph. This way, they will be able to focus on the key or legend before tackling any other problems. You may write the corresponding number at the end of the table.
Now, we can start looking at some questions.
What does each picture of a pack mean? Each pack represents 2 items donated.
How many more bags of rice were donated than the medicine packs? For questions asking "how many more/less", we will need to find the difference. In this question, we need to subtract the number of medicine packs from the number of bags of rice. 12 - 6 = 6. So there are 6 more bags of rice than medicine packs.
Which kind of goods has the least number? Simply check the numbers you have written under the Number column. We can see that the smallest one is 6. It stands for the number of medicine packs donated.
Referring to your previous answer, how many of this item were donated? We already know that there are 6 packs of medicine donated.
Suppose the people donate 4 more canned goods, how many pictures of the pack will you add to that row? Since the key or legend indicates that 1 picture of the pack stands for 2 items, we will need to draw 2 more packs to indicate 4 canned goods.
Worksheets for this topic will be uploaded asap.
