How to take this test
Twenty-five questions in thirty minutes gives you a little over one minute per item, but the passages take part of that time too.
- Read for structure. Track the main point, the author’s position, and what each paragraph is doing.
- Go back to the passage. For detail questions, verify the relevant line instead of relying on memory.
- Keep inference tied to evidence. A good inference is supported by the passage even if it is not stated word for word.
- Watch choices that are too strong. Words such as always, never, or completely can make a tempting answer inaccurate.
- Do not reread the whole passage for every question. Return to the part that matters.
- Mark and move when needed. Finish the easier questions first, then return with the time left.
These are general standardized-test strategies, not official Ateneo test instructions.
