How to take this test
Use the 50 minutes as a real diagnostic. The point is to see what you can answer without outside help and where time starts to become a problem.
- Think of 40 seconds as your average per item. Quick grammar and vocabulary questions should leave more time for paragraph and organization items.
- Do a clean first pass. If an item is taking too long, mark it for review and move on.
- For grammar, name the problem before choosing. Check agreement, tense, pronouns, modifiers, parallel structure, punctuation, diction, and sentence logic.
- For vocabulary, use the sentence. Predict the meaning or tone from context before comparing the choices.
- For organization, follow the logic. Look for opening ideas, reference words, transitions, chronology, support, and conclusions.
- Use your last minutes on unanswered and marked items. Do not restart from Question 1 just because time remains.
These are general standardized-test strategies, not official Ateneo test instructions.
